Christian Aid Week
Christian Aid Week. 10 to 16 May 2015. It is not long to this year's Christian Aid Week. Each year well over £10,000 is raised in and around Cirencester by volunteers who help with the house-to-house collection and with the street collection in the town on the Saturday.
This year the focus for our efforts is on Ethiopia, a country which is not one of the poorest overall in Africa, but where the changing climate makes the semi-nomadic life of some of its people no longer tenable with the loss of rich grasslands. Christian Aid, through its partners in Ethiopia, also supports women left destitute by widowhood in those communities, enabling them to provide for their children.
If you could help with the house-to-house collection or on the Saturday - or with the counting of the money on the afternoon of Sunday 17th May - please speak to your Christian Aid representative. We need all the help we can get!
