We need volunteers to assist with the Altar serving, could that person be you?
Cirencester Parish Church has a long tradition of Altar Servers. Sadly we are in real danger of losing this tradition if volunteers don’t come forward.
Servers assist the Clergy with preparing and delivering the services.
The various tasks include carrying the Processional Cross at the head of a procession.
Carrying the Acolyte Candles in procession
Preparing the Altar before the service and assisting at the Altar during the service.
It is an enormous privilege to be part of the team that presents the liturgy of the church. There is no age barrier from 7 until 80+
In our church it is customary for the Altar Servers to wear robes, sometimes a Cassock (Black) and Cotta (white over garment) at other times a single White Linen Garment.
We will train you and we will value your support. We simply need you to volunteer and become part of our extended family.
