St Lawrence Church Centre
St Lawrence Church is the newest of the three churches in the parish. As a dual-purpose building it is often used just as a hall but weekly Sunday services take place as well.
The church stands in its own grounds with a small car-park and was built in the 1950s through subscriptions from the local community and with help from the PCC. St Lawrence's style of worship is probably the most informal although its form is still firmly within the Anglican tradition. Like the other two Anglican churches, St Lawrence has a Eucharist service on all Sundays in the month.
Musicians, drawn from the congregation, play on a rota basis at the Sunday services, so there is always a variety of music. There is a constant need for other musicians who can play keyboard, a wind instrument or guitar, so if you could help in this way, please contact us and volunteer!
Once a month, Holy Communion is provided in the church and in two nursing homes in the area.
Those who attend St Lawrence are fiercely protective of the spirit which is engendered within its worship and give unstintingly of their time in its interest. Loyal members regularly supply coffee after the service, flowers for Sunday services and there is always a warm welcome at its services.
