Visiting Choirs

Music is a huge part of church life, both in services and in the many concerts that take place here.

There has been a church at the heart of Cirencester since the 12th Century, and it is still a focal point of the town to this day. We are fortunate to have a large, friendly and supportive congregation and numbers for services are steadily growing.

The church has a large, recently restored IV/63 Willis/Harrison and Harrison organ as well as a fine Yamaha grand piano, which are available for use by visiting choirs.

We welcome choirs to come and sing for our services throughout the year, especially in the summer when our own choir are on a well deserved break.

Our regular pattern of services is as follows:

Sunday 10:00 – Sung Eucharist

             16:00 – Evensong (1st and 3rd Sundays)

16:00 – Evening Prayer (2nd and 4th Sundays – unless visiting choir in residence)

Monday – Friday:

17:00 – Evening Prayer (unless visiting choir in residence)

If you would be interested in bringing your choir to sing at St John Baptist, please get in touch with Thomas Hawkes, our Organist and Choirmaster at: organist@cirenparish.co.uk
